We ultimately had to resort to exiting through the window to the hallway. This incident presents a serious safety risk, particularly if children or individuals with limited mobility were to be trapped in such a situation. Furthermore, many guests visit for religious purposes, often having made reservations months in advance. A similar incident could lead to them missing their scheduled darshan, which would be a considerable inconvenience and a significant problem for your establishment. I strongly recommend that all door handles be thoroughly inspected and replaced with higher-quality alternatives, even if it entails additional cost.
